One of my favorite people, and artists the codex club's worked with, is Emily Heron, who made this dress; I wear it all the time. (click here to see it in the shop). Layered it up with my TCC hoops (click here), and snapped some pics for you with my very talented Marky.
Shot some of the new line this morning - hope you guys love the pieces as much as we do. This is just a sneak preview of our hoop earrings, black pants, and good cat dress- more to come. On the site now!
Snuggling up with layered sweaters with hot drinks (tea, chai lattes, coffee) and a lap blanket is my happy place. So it's no wonder Fall is my favorite season! There've been so many great finds lately. I think of the codex club constantly, and while we're continuing to make original products, I've been looking at some beautiful, different and creative vendors to keep growing the inventory and brand.
Starting these silver earring pieces using the infinity sign (a personal favorite) and some Greek life apparel; even though I'm well out of school I always feel that momentum and longing for structure, as September arrives. Parsons never had any frats or sororities, I only found out recently that we have a mascot, the narwhal!
Motivated to make a plan and start a personal curriculum. Any suggestions for the next few months are welcome!
I'll stream Friday’s at noon from now on, so we can talk about the codex club, how life’s going. I wanna know who you’re dating, how work’s going, what it looks like where you are. If you want me to pray for you over the upcoming week- let me know! Let’s chat :D
Did you know that the art of candlemaking is called 'chandlering'?
I am so proud of this 'Freshly Baked Cookies' candle scent mixture. I have to give Mark credit for helping come up with it- it really does smell like you just made a batch of fresh-baked cookies and it warms the feeling of the whole house. We thought of the concept while living in a hotel for two weeks back in January due to flooding issues, and I think were just wanting to think about cozy, comfortable things.
I want to make mini ones (votives), change up the label, keep working on this. There's a place I like called the Foundery that I went to print and cut out vinyl labels.
'The Foundery was built upon the goal to fuel the creative community with unique access to industrial-grade tools and knowledge, and to provide a safe and accessible makers’ space for Baltimore’s creative community to gather, learn, build and teach.'
With the cost of a day pass, you get access to embroidery machines, laser and vinyl cutting, woodworking, screenprinting, and more! It's also a nice, diplomatic space to think creatively and relax. And you can get a big mug of Zeke's coffee and a hot dog while you work.
Just listed a few of these on the site, here - and wanted to share the process.
The codex club lip balms, were made through Herban Lifestyle and Uncommon Goods. 💋 it was so nice knowing exactly what was in this without unnecessary chemicals. Just cocoa butter, sunflower oil, sunflower oil and spearmint essential oil (and vitamin e from the medicine cabinet). And it feels amazing on your lips. Hope you enjoy!
Saw a Lion Dance at the Walters Art Museum for the holiday. Really enjoyed it, and all the performances, as well as walking around the various exhibits. There were some really incredible sculptures of Hercules and a series on the 4 Continents. Ate at Mount Vernon Marketplace down the street, and biked around along the Inner Harbor with the local city bikes.
As Valentines Day nears: a gift that will smell like a dozen red roses for a lot longer than the flowers. Simple and clean smell with rose hips essential oil fragrance.
